Privacy Policy
We believe in transparency. Here's how we handle your information when you use our technical analysis platform.
Last Updated: January 15, 2025 | Effective Date: January 15, 2025
This policy complies with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) B.E. 2562 and applies to all users accessing contemplateit.com from Thailand and internationally.
Who We Are
contemplateit operates as an educational platform focused on technical analysis for trading. Our physical location is at 6 หมู่ที่ 6 Map Taphut 8 Alley, ต.มาบตาพุด อ.เมือง Rayong 21150, Thailand. When we say "we," "us," or "our" in this document, we're referring to contemplateit and its educational services.
We're not just another faceless platform. Our team consists of trading educators who understand that your data represents trust. And trust isn't something we take for granted.
What Information We Collect
Let's be direct about what we gather. We only collect information that helps us provide better educational services or that's legally required.
Information You Provide Directly
- Contact details when you reach out through our forms (name, email address, phone number if provided)
- Communication content when you send us messages or questions about our courses
- Account information if you register for educational materials or newsletters
- Feedback and survey responses when you choose to share your experience
Information Collected Automatically
Like most websites, we collect certain technical information when you visit:
- Browser type and version you're using
- IP address (which helps us understand general location and prevent security issues)
- Pages you visit on our site and how long you spend there
- Device information (desktop, mobile, tablet) and operating system
- Referral source (how you found us)
Important note: We don't collect payment information directly. If we ever process payments for courses, they're handled through secure third-party processors who maintain their own strict privacy standards. We never see or store your complete credit card numbers.
How We Use Your Information
Here's the thing—we're educators, not data brokers. Everything we collect serves a specific educational purpose.
| Purpose | How It Helps |
|---|---|
| Course Communication | Sending you information about technical analysis programs, schedules, and educational updates you've requested |
| Platform Improvement | Understanding which educational content resonates most with students so we can create better materials |
| Technical Support | Responding to your questions about trading concepts, platform navigation, or course access |
| Security | Protecting both your account and our platform from unauthorized access or misuse |
| Legal Compliance | Meeting requirements under Thai PDPA and other applicable regulations |
We don't send spam. Period. If you receive educational emails from us, it's because you specifically requested them or they're directly related to a course you're taking.
Legal Basis for Processing
Under Thailand's PDPA, we need a legal reason to process your personal data. Here's what applies:
- Consent: When you fill out our contact form or subscribe to updates, you're giving us permission to use that information
- Contractual Necessity: If you enroll in our courses, we need your information to deliver the educational service
- Legitimate Interests: We analyze site usage to improve our educational platform (always balanced against your privacy rights)
- Legal Obligations: Sometimes Thai law requires us to retain certain records
Who We Share Information With
We're selective about this. Your information doesn't get sold or rented to anyone. Ever.
Service Providers We Work With
We use a few trusted partners who help us run our platform:
- Hosting providers who keep our website running smoothly
- Email service providers for course communications (they only send what we specifically ask them to)
- Analytics tools that help us understand which educational content works best
- Security services that protect against cyber threats
Each of these partners is contractually required to protect your data and can only use it for the specific services they provide to us.
Legal Requirements
We'll disclose information if Thai law requires it or if we need to protect our legal rights. This is rare, but we're obligated to comply with valid legal requests from Thai authorities.
We do not share your personal information with marketing companies, data brokers, or other educational platforms. Your trust in our technical analysis education shouldn't come with unwanted sales calls.
Your Rights Under Thai PDPA
Thailand's data protection law gives you significant control. Here's what you can do:
Access Your Data
Request a copy of what personal information we hold about you. We'll provide it in a readable format within 30 days.
Correct Information
If something's inaccurate or outdated, let us know. We'll update it promptly.
Delete Your Data
Request deletion of your information (subject to legal retention requirements for educational records).
Withdraw Consent
Change your mind about marketing emails or optional data collection anytime.
Data Portability
Get your information in a format you can transfer to another service if needed.
Object to Processing
Challenge how we use your data if you believe it's not appropriate or necessary.
How to Exercise These Rights
Email us at help@contemplateit.com with your request. We'll respond within 30 days (as required by PDPA). You'll need to verify your identity—usually just confirming the email address associated with your account is enough.
There's no fee for most requests. If your request is particularly complex or repetitive, we might charge a reasonable administrative fee, but we'll tell you upfront.
How We Protect Your Information
Security isn't just about technology. It's about culture. Our entire team understands that protecting student data is fundamental to what we do.
Technical Measures
- SSL encryption for all data transmitted to and from our website
- Secure servers with regular security updates and monitoring
- Access controls that limit who on our team can view personal information
- Regular backups stored securely in case of technical failures
- Firewall protection and intrusion detection systems
Organizational Measures
We train our staff on data protection requirements. Access to personal information is strictly on a need-to-know basis. We regularly review our practices to make sure we're following current security standards.
That said, no system is completely impenetrable. We do our absolute best, but we can't guarantee absolute security. What we can promise is that we'll notify you promptly if there's ever a data breach affecting your information, as required by Thai law.
How Long We Keep Your Information
We don't hoard data. We keep information only as long as there's a legitimate reason.
| Information Type | Retention Period |
|---|---|
| Contact form inquiries | 2 years from last contact |
| Course enrollment records | 7 years (Thai educational recordkeeping requirement) |
| Email marketing lists | Until you unsubscribe, then deleted within 30 days |
| Website analytics | Aggregated data kept indefinitely; individual data 26 months |
| Account information | Duration of account plus 1 year, unless you request deletion |
When information reaches the end of its retention period, we securely delete it. For digital records, this means overwriting data so it can't be recovered. For any physical records, we use secure shredding.
International Data Transfers
Our primary operations are in Thailand, but some of our service providers (like hosting companies) might store data on servers outside Thailand. When this happens, we ensure they provide adequate protection through:
- Contractual data protection clauses that meet Thai PDPA standards
- Verification that the receiving country has adequate data protection laws
- Regular audits of our international service providers' security practices
If you're accessing our site from outside Thailand, your information will be transferred to and processed in Thailand according to this privacy policy.
Cookies and Tracking
We use cookies—small text files stored on your device—to make our site work better. Most are essential for basic functionality. Some help us understand how students use our educational content.
Types of Cookies We Use
- Essential cookies: Required for the site to function (like remembering you're logged in)
- Analytics cookies: Help us see which pages are most useful so we can improve our content
- Preference cookies: Remember your settings and choices
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Blocking all cookies might affect your ability to use some features of our platform. Most browsers let you block third-party cookies while still accepting first-party ones—that's usually a good middle ground.
Children's Privacy
Our technical analysis courses are designed for adults. We don't knowingly collect information from anyone under 20 years old (the age of majority in Thailand). If you're a parent and believe your child has provided us with personal information, contact us immediately and we'll delete it.
If we discover we've accidentally collected information from someone under 20, we'll delete it within 7 days.
Changes to This Policy
Privacy practices change. Laws change. Technology changes. When we update this policy, we'll post the new version here with a revised "Last Updated" date at the top.
For significant changes—anything that materially affects how we use your information—we'll send you an email notification if we have your email address. We'll also give you a reasonable opportunity to review the changes before they take effect.
Continuing to use our platform after changes go into effect means you accept the updated policy.
Your Options for Limiting Data Collection
You have choices about how much information you share:
- Use browser privacy modes or VPNs if you prefer not to share your IP address
- Adjust cookie settings in your browser to limit tracking
- Provide only the minimum required information in contact forms
- Opt out of marketing emails (there's an unsubscribe link in every message)
- Use email privacy services if you're concerned about sharing your primary email
Keep in mind that limiting data collection might affect some features. For instance, if you block all cookies, you'll need to log in every time you visit.
Filing a Complaint
We hope you'll contact us first if you have concerns about how we handle your information. But you also have the right to file a complaint with Thailand's Personal Data Protection Committee (PDPC) if you believe we've violated your privacy rights.
The PDPC investigates complaints about data protection violations and can order remedial action if they find problems.
